There has been some talk about food-stores having a more responsible role in the public health. Here in DK some has even removed meet with over 12% fat...

From that i got the idea of the store offering you 10 alternative reciepts on your way out, based on the stuff you just bought +/- one or two products...

That way people could get more variated meals .

A bit of an add-on idea on the previous shopping bag for the fast and indecisive

The Leftovers Restaurent

Inspired by a Springwise spot regarding a restaurent with no kitchen, but a collection of menu-cards from the nearby fast-food supplyers, I though of having a restaurent where you brought your leftovers - for others to enjoy while you enjoy leftovers that are not your own.

Now i know a lot of health issues is envolved here !!! And I'm not a judge when it comes to the reality of implementing such an idea.

Because of the health issue, i thought that the main issue for most people would be trusting the other "food supplys" so i came up with the idea that the food your shared should be with your friends, so the restaurent should support both a eat with your friends get togeather to eat, and a get offered what your friends might have submitted ... and only what your friends have submitted.

Food should ofcause be free, only paying for any heating or preperation nessasary.

Now again i know the idea is loos, so i put a charity angle on it - make a leftover restaurent for the homeless. People would then donate last nights leftovers to the restaurent, wich would then serve it to the homeless anytime of the day.

Again donating dry-goods would also bee a good place to do this, dry-goods has the quality to stay fresh for a long time, and homeless would be able to carry it with them to the streets. Dry-goods can also be sent to poor countries.

Get your shopping done for you!

Over a year ago i read an article in the springwise.com newsletter, the story of a restaurant without a kitchen. The restaurant instead offered dishes available from the nearby fast-food restaurants. Going to this restaurant you had the opportunity to choose from a wide range, and going as a group not everybody has to settle fro pizza!!

In Aarhus a shoppingmal offers men the opportunity to get their Christmas shopping done for them, while they enjoy a cop of coffee reading the newspaper or just in general - Not shopping.

In a 2 min. talk with one of my colleagues we had talked up this idea.

Why not have a company / coffee shop offer this service, including all shops in downtown ??

Company's should of cause agree on being available through this coffee shop, where a multiple search tools should let the customers brows through all products from all shops - finding the best or just the right one each time.

The coffee shop would then go and get all the items from the different shops, for the customer to see, and possible choose. If chosen the items will be payed directly to the coffee shop, which in turn then pays each shop for the item.

A matter of trust between each shop and the coffee shop should of cause be established, because items will actually be taken out of their shops without paying ( some collateral should be given from the coffee shop to each shop)

Shopping bag for the fast and indecisive

This idea actually started out as an idea for the shops in airports (tax-free).
The reason is that every time i saw something about airport security on TV, I saw people having to leave behind newly bought shampoo's, deo's and parfumes, only because they didn't have it in a clear plastic bag for the security to check.

The initial idea was that each of the tax-free shops where to offer a bag with content of your own choice, for a specific price. The bag would be laminated shut before leaving the store, thus preserving security. A simple way for the stores to sell more, for the customers to get the things with them home, and for the airport to address the security issues.

I think by now some variation of this idea is implemented...

Some weeks later i had the idea as i often get them, while talking about something else...

For a long time, supermarkets have tried to create ready packed dishes for the stressed and single population in a non-fast food kind of way. They did this by packing the ingredients into trays along with the receipt. This is a good but unfortunately expensive way to ease the consumers daily life.

A lot of people go to supermarkets on the way home from work, without a groceries list, and without know what they are looking for.

I combined the airport bag idea and this ready packed dishes into 2 different versions on an idea, the second actually provided by my mother - thanks mom!

OK, the first idea was to have the supermarket create a number of bags, each with a dish printed on one side. The print should contain something like: name of dish, picture, approx. price, approx. time to make and the most important a list of groceries. The other side should have the receipt for the dish printed.

When entering the supermarket you could then choose a bag from a wall of bags. Choose the bag which best suits your likings for that day. Weather it be the dish it self, the time it takes to make it or the price you choose from, the bag then helps you quickly find the ingredients for that dish in the store.


Now the second idea, or development of the first one, is to all ready have the dishes prepacked into a plastic bag - located in a cooler. This way you wont have to shop around the shop for those things, but only the additional everyday goods you also might buy. What separates this idea from the pre-packed dishes we already know is that this one uses the ordinary shelf-products all ready in store and there for is much less expencive to implement and sell.
